Is it possible to convert dcs to tmcc.if so how what and where do I get the parts and cost.

Yes. ERR parts from 3rd Rail.
Depending on what you want to convert, it can be anywhere from around a $100 for a simple DC or AC Commander to several hundred with Cruise Commander, Railsounds and couplers.
The nice part is that the install is fairly simple and has a lot fewer wires and parts than a MTH upgrade kit.
It is a nice system, just different from DCS.
I have both systems installed in some of my locomotives, with Proto 2 kits and Proto 3 kits for DCS, and both DC Commanders and Cruise Commanders with railsounds for ERR systems.

I've done a couple of upgrades from PS2 to TMCC with ERR Cruise Commander and Rail Sounds in both steam and diesel. Very happy with the results.

It's a fairly simple conversion. I've got both DCS and TMCC and I will say that I prefer the low speed performance of PS3 vs an ERR Cruise Commander. PS3 seems a little smoother at low speeds to me. Not that a Cruise Commander is bad at all.
I did this to two MTH models of EMD diesels. I want to do it to three Baldwin diesels that I have but ERR doesn't offer a Baldwin Railsounds unit, despite Lionel having made Sharks more than once.
Where do I buy theses units from.

That sucks. I have 2 ABBA sets of William Sharks, PRR one Tuscan, one Brunswick. They both got the serial wiring treatment. I think they are beautiful. I wonder if Williams makes one in TBP2?

Picking a similar turbocharged 4 stroke prime mover should give you a similar sound.

I converted my MTH SP Baldwin AS616 to Cruise Commander/Railsounds. I used the Alco PA sound set. It was close enough.

Thanks for the suggestions, but having ridden on Baldwins in my railroading days the difference would be noticeable. Hopefully they will release that sound set one of these days. Until then I'll keep the MTH electronics and just run these locos in conventional.
I confess I'm not skilled enough to do a DCS to TMCC conversion for a MTH NASA SW1500 switcher with PS2, but ...
Gunrunner John came to my rescue and did a "brain transplant" with ERR parts. Now the SW runs perfectly responsive to my TMCC CAB-1, just like the other TMCC-equipped locos in my collection.

How do you trigger the chuff when converted?

Here's the way I do it: Chuff-Generator
I am having a hard time to find someone to fix my mth diesel engines. Scenes mth has closed. I can't find anyone to do a good job. The ones I do find has a lot of problems get the parts they need. MTH is staging in their parts department and service department. Is everyone having this same problem? You can't even talk to someone in person in the parts or services department. I am tired of it I thing I am just going to get out of the hobby of trains . I sorry to say.
Couplers, and lighting, may also have to be changed. Smoke unit ??
I recommend my friends at Grandpa’s Trains in Warwick, RI for any repairs you need for your MTH engines. They’ve installed PS 2 and PS 3 boards in several of mine and they work flawlessly. And MTH is NOT dead.

MTH is suffering through the parts shortages just like everyone else. I don't think it's a permanent thing, and at some point we'll have boards and other parts again. We all have the same issues, but we're muddling by, no need to go to another hobby that is likely to have similar issues, right?
Thanks for the reply gunrunnerjohn
The email system works for MTH parts. Very responsive to me on that way.
There are plenty of folk that can repair on this forum also. G
