I bought an All Nation NW2 switcher and want to paint it in the black and red Seaboard color scheme.  I have seen varying schemes...with the roof painted red some painted black and the back of the engine black and some red.  Does anyone have pictures or know what the real one looked like?

This picture would indicate black roof and possibly black low near the chassis under the cab.

This MTH NW-2 (30-2669-1) picture shows all sides, but not sure if it is accurate.

Andy, the book SEABOARD MOTIVE POWER by Warren Calloway and Paul Withers, says the roof was suppose to have been changed from red to black around November 1951 (page 240).  Also says that didn't always happen from one shop to the next.

On page 145 there's a color photo of 1410 and you can clearly see the red showing thru the black.

If you like the Seaboard Air line and Atlantic Coast Line as much as I do you ought to join the ACL-SAL Historical Society:

Thanks Bob, I will take a look.  I do love ACL & SAL....anything southern really...Central of GA, Sav & Atl, etc.  When I picked up the NW-2 switcher this non powered F3 was in the deal.  Not sure how I am going to power it yet, maybe a stanton motor...but I am going to paint it in SCL black with gold stripe.
