I have a few transport cars. Both of these actually, MTH 30-7659 SF Cadillac & 30-7674 UP TBird TRANSPORTS, and 4 others.

I was attempting to find the price on the 30-7674, but it did not appear on MTH.

So I did a search, and an ebay ad came up.  Priced at $159, for both. $149 immediate sale.

Now, I wish I was naive enough to believe these were realistic prices.

And I wish I was naive enough to believe I could get those prices for mine.

But Wish as I might, I cannot get that level of naivete.

Anyway, I attempted to find 30-7674 in the 2000 catalog pdf, having been led there by this information, "The 2000 Cal-Stewart souvenir car was a 2 level Union Pacific auto carrier car with 4 die-cast Ertl Ford Thunderbirds in 'O' gauge for Rail King by MTH. Catalogue #30-7674. It featured die-cast metal trucks, operating knuckle couplers, and a detailed ABS plastic body." I found this on http://www.ttos-sw.org/previous.htm.

But it doesn't list the original price.

And the catalog pdf, doesnt exist for the catalog, I believe this car is in.

http://mthtrains.com/aw-2000-volume-2-railking,

because I looked in the other catalogs I downloaded, and it was not there.

Maybe it is not in any catalog.  But I would like to know the original selling price.

Also, what are the letters in front of the catalog years? "AW"

Thanks

Sorry, I guess I wasn't clear.

I am seeking the catalog price for 30-7674.  It is not a flat car, it is a 2 level auto carrier that carries 4 Thunderbirds.

PHILLYREADING

" A more realistic price should be around $55.00 for both."

Is that a price you paid, know someone who paid it, or is there a book, like a 3rd edition, that tells you the value?

I realize value is subjective, and I did look on ebay...

Thanks

Those two cars were special runs for one of the train collecting organizations, TCA, TTOS, I forget which. You might find them in the "uncataloged" section of the MTH website. They do sell for more than the usual price for RK auto carriers because they were limited production. I have both and I think I paid about 50 bucks apiece, many years ago at York. You could also try Googling the original product numbers, there might be a link to some information from the organization that originally issued them.
