Cost of rolling stock.

You can review the sold listings on the bay and get an idea of current worth.

I beleave the  list price was 25.00 if they are the early flats with vehicals.  Basically they are worth what someone will pay

You would be overpaying very much in my opinion at $149.00. A more realistic price should be around $55.00 for both.

Sorry, I guess I wasn't clear.

I am seeking the catalog price for 30-7674.  It is not a flat car, it is a 2 level auto carrier that carries 4 Thunderbirds.

Is that a price you paid, know someone who paid it, or is there a book, like a 3rd edition, that tells you the value?

I believe that those sold originally for $59.95. Searching auction sites and e-bay it looks like resales go anywhere from $30.00 to $60.00.

I am attempting to make a book that shows the original price and what I paid.  So that MY WIFE doesn't end up selling my trains for what I told her I paid fr them....

Hate to be the one break this to you, but unless your wife is incredibly persuasive or keeps your trains, they will be sold for less than you paid.

Those two cars were special runs for one of the train collecting organizations, TCA, TTOS, I forget which. You might find them in the "uncataloged" section of the MTH website. They do sell for more than the usual price for RK auto carriers because they were limited production. I have both and I think I paid about 50 bucks apiece, many years ago at York. You could also try Googling the original product numbers, there might be a link to some information from the organization that originally issued them.
