This arrived yesterday:

It's a Pennsylvania caboose; I already have one (which I posted about here) that came to me as-built. It has a wood roof, die cast under frame and trucks and rivet detail on the sides. It appears in their 1941 catalog (as well as in later editions).

This kit (dated 1937):

...has a brass roof, no rivet detail on the sides (those are on a separate strip):

Unfortunately, one of the cast aluminum(?) cupola ends is missing: if any of you kind should happens to have a spare, I would be happy to reimburse you...

Best of all, the under frame is bronze(?) and look at those trucks!

I don't know what the brand of those trucks are; they have working leaf-springs and are really nice, I think.

Any thoughts, comments, etc. are always welcome.

I'm with Marty. I routinely cast parts. Depending on the piece you can use modeling clay or plaster for your mold.

Aluminite, Smooth-On and others make two-part resin kits. You'll also need mold release to get the original or casting out of the mold.

They also have two-part RTV mold making kits. A word of caution. Once opened, the RTV liquids have a limited shelf life.

Those trucks look like Max Grey or US Hobbies from the photo.    Probably Max Grey.

If they are MG they can be easily disassembled.    remove the 2 screws shown in the photos.     Remove the springs from one siide  which are probably held by the screws.    Slide the plank out of the lower part of the side frames on same side.     Slide that sideframe down to where the plank was, and it should slide off.

I will look into that; thanks. Hopefully Intermountain wheel sets will fit... 🤞

Except that they also look to be soldered together in the one photo.
