Hello Everyone, I picked up the CTA Cubs set and I wanted to change the battery. I have done procedure on most of the MTH engines I have that needed it - but this is the first one I am doing for a Subway unit. Please see photos below - I opened it - I do not see the battery? The operating instructions have a section about replacing the battery but no diagram. Is there some battery eliminator upgrade board I am not aware of, or am I just blind?

FYI...Here is the manual for the MTH 3200 series PS2 streetcars.

I wonder if someone took the shell off a PS2 and put them on a pre PS2 that did not require a battery? A question for some of the more knowledgeable, do PS2s have the QSI boards for sound? The guts of yours does not look like you have a battery hookup.
That is a DCRU with an added horn board. No battery required.
Thank you Jon! Wow - Do I do anything different in operation? I do not want to scramble or fry the board. Thanks!
The DCRU doesn’t have a processor. It’s just a basic electronic reverse unit. Of course, anything can be damaged by a voltage spike, so the precautions used for modern equipment should be followed.
Thank you Jon! Thank you all!
