I know there have been numerous threads of what might be in the MTH 2015 Volume 2 catalog, but I am surprised that we are so close and not peep on what is in there. Usually we start hearing things a week before. Mike and the crew have done a great job keeping it under wraps. Hope there is more Long Island Railroad equipment!

Since the "no new tooling" era, maybe nobody really cares anymore.
Good Point Hot Water!
There will be a Premier N&W 1218 Steam Engine in the new catalog!! It retail for $1399.95. I've already placed my order for it!!!...............Rogerw.
In the heady days of the late 90s and early 00s, we were certainly spoiled by all the new tooling for items never previously produced in O gauge. Now MTH (and to a lesser extent, Big L) is reaping the benefits of their initial investment in tooling. Don't forget MTH turning their attention to the European market. At least we got a 44 tonner, which a LOT of us have been asking for for quite a while now. I look around my train room and I marvel at the trains I have accumulated over the years. I have more than I ever dreamed of as a kid. I for one, am content.
Our site Goes live tomorrow. A ton of new road names sure to please everyone!
It's still going to take 12-18 months (or longer) before anything shows up on the street, so knowing a day or two early really doesn't matter.
Rusty
I'm in for a Milwaukee Road 44 tonner...if it is catalogued! I'll take one all black and one orange and black, please!

Any purple box LIRR steam?
I was thinking that perhaps MTH would have expanded the 3-2 diesels to six axle diesels. But as Hot Water pointed out:
Since the "no new tooling" era, maybe nobody really cares anymore.
Perhaps MTH could just sell their 2 rail trucks without a 3 rail coupler. How much would that cost?

We can only hope. What am I saying? I am already on back order for a LIRR H10, RS-1, and a 44 tonner!!!!!!
I think its a fair bet it will be filled with re-runs and old tooling done in new fantasy schemes. Nothing to get too excited about.
Please, no more Fantasy schemes. How about the loco that seems to have escaped MTH radar - And they have even re-tooled this engine!!!
Maybe they'll do some German rolling stock to go with the BR 44. I'd sort of like a BR 44 but I don't see much point in it if it doesn't have a train to pull.
I could get real excited with a reissue if it was a Premier Triplex..
But it'll need whistle smoke, dynamo steam and all six cylinders smoking plus tender smoke..
Throw in a swinging bell and it would be the greatest model ever made..

I agree. Quite frankly, I'd like to see Santa Fe and Southern Pacific in the "Shouldn't have Painted So Fast" paint. I'd get one of each and run them together. Hopefully they'll get the positioning of the letters right this time around. As much as the BNSF Merger and the UP acquisitions of SP and CNW turned me into the self-appointed Information Minister of the Isle of Denial, the SPSF merger didn't bother me for some reason. Maybe its because they were the two roads I grew up near.

The boss has said no "new" rehashes of old stuff, "Be happy with what you have."
That's not how I interpret that statement. It strikes me that what he is saying is don't expect a lot of recycled material - i.e. maybe there will be some all-new stuff. We'll find out tomorrow. "Be content with what you have" could mean don't expect yet another J3, K4, etc.
My prediction: lots of diesels, locomotives and rolling stock. At same prices, or more, as 2015 Vol 1. All worth drooling over! Some may never see the light of day.
Always fun to see. No matter what I always thank Mike in person for making some nice stuff.
i hope there's some premier subway stuff in the catalog as well as some Southern Pacific E/F units in the bloody nose scheme
Conspiracy theory: Maybe the reason there have been no leaks is because there is all new tooling!
In all seriousness, it is still a fun diversion to look through a new catalog and see want stuff you like, what stuff you want, and what stuff you will absolutely positively need or won't be happy.
I for one would be fine with a fantasy scheme in the form of Montour or Steelers stuff. I also would be happy with reissues of Railking F40PHs and F59PHIs.
I've already stated this in another thread, but it would be nice if we could have Viewliners, ACS-64s, SD40-2Fs, a Lionel Trackmobile competitor in the form of a Brookville DES-70B or alternate, operating cars and accessories, and the MTH submarine car they never produced:

Man, that set would've been cool!
Wow, the cover shows a Big Boy - has this ever been done in O scale??? I can't wait!!!
Sorry for the terrible sarcasm; as cool as a Big Boy is, I'm really tired of seeing/hearing about them.
They need new O Scale models of Thrall Car, Greenville Steel Car, and National Stell Car mill gondolas and O Scale models of Gunderson and Pullman-Standard High-Sided Coal and Wood Chip gondolas from the time period of 1965 to the present.
Andrew
I took a leak today but you prolly don't want to hear about that.
No, no I don't.
I have talked to MTH recently and in terms of modern power, they have said that there were going to possibly be some new ES44AC, SD40-2, and more SD70ACe engines produced. I'm hoping this is true, I could really use a premier NS ES44AC and SD70ACe. But as usual, don't quote me on that.

So very true thanks for writing that

Of course... I'll be offshore and out of cell range by the time they release it... oh the agony of waiting three more days!!! Hoping for some NYO&W anything or premier Chessie.

I feel the same way. And, I'm a UP steam fan.
Now, a Bull Moose, 4-10-2 or a 2-10-2 would get my money. I'm sure my money is safe in my wallet!
Well, I was hoping for C&NW E6's.
You will see Big Boys and 611's coming out of every other page for the next few years so you better get used to it. I may be interested in the 1218 we will see what the street price will be. I may go for it if it comes with some hoppers and a cabeese. unless there is something I have to have like some new goodies or a 44 ton B&O I think I will get off cheap this time.
See you all at York. I do not think it will be the same without Sean.

I struggled to get my premier NS sd40-2 as seen in this video
