DCS and Z stuff Controller

You're right about the constant voltage requirement for the board, but there are two power supplies required for this system.  One is board/sensor power which is always constant.  The other is track power.  In order to control the trolley speed, track power has to be variable.  I pull power to the board from one power supply (constant voltage) and track power from a separate source (variable). It's the variable track power that seems to be the problem.  The system works fine when variable track power is supplied from the transformer throttle-controlled channel.  When I tried to use a variable DCS channel as the track power, the sensors no longer work.

John is correct.  The relays on the DZ-1240 need 12-14 Volts to work properly.  Connect the board power to the 14Volt terminals on your transformer.  Mine has been working fine for 3 years on a station-stop line.
