Well....I dropped the dang thing. Seemed to be fine, I mean nothing was cracked or busted, but it would'nt turn on. I double checked the batteries, still nothing. I was wondering, I cant be the only clutz to have dropped one of those remotes. I'll be taking it in to the local MTH service center, but I was wondering, for those who have had a remote poop out on you, what did you end up doing? is it serviceable? If you got it repaired, what did it end up costing?

uh, how do you open it up. There are no screws. Pry it open? start at the top? bottom? side? There's gottal be a correct way to open it without ruining the case.
I'd appreciate any help.

IIRC, there is one screw somewhere in or around the battery compartment. Once that bad boy is taken care off, pry it apart VERY carefully. It takes some good pressure to get it open. I seem to remember it being easier if you start at the bottom and work your way to the top but am not 100% there. Maybe someone else with verify that.
Take the screw out that is behind the batteries first. Then the tricky part is determine whick half fits inside the the other. You then squeeze the half in until the catches release the two halfs and allow them to come apart. Someone posted a video on this but at the momment I am not sure where. If done right there is no reason to nick or damage anything. Some Remotes seem to come apart easier then others.
The front fits inside the back. Meaning the connection tabs are on the front section of the remote. After removing the screw in the battery compartment hold the remote squeezing the front in and trying to pull the back upward. This concentration of force is to be done in the area of the battery compartment. Not an easy situation to work with. When you feel the halves starting to release, reduce your pull so you do not end up with a bucket of parts. When you get it apart be careful not to unseat the RF board.

If you are not comfortable doing this have someone who is capable do it for you.
