Doesn't your thumb get sore from upgrading all those remotes?
That's why one uses a clamp.
Matt Sears makes a small plier grip tool that works perfectly, I actually have several different types that clamp the on off butt down solid and do't slip off!

The clamp is a must for multiple remotes. However having said that, I never got it right the first time ever. Sometimes it took 4 and 5 tries. Oh well we don't have to do it very often.
Some clamps work better than others. I've had clamps with pads too large to adequately press some remotes.
I was only kidding but I never remember my clamps when it's time because I forget about the button holding so I just beat out holding it down
