The other day running two MTH PS3 diesel engines using android version 14 with MTH app V4.0.1 build 78 when one engines started going super-fast climbing to 100 mph then crashed, the app was unresponsive. Has anyone else experienced this issue? If so what’s the solution?

WTIU is wired in passive mode. It was wired with power going to WTIU input then terminal block which caused a buzzing sound. (which didn’t sound good) Using MTH Z1000 brick

The app has been locking up needing to be refreshed on the run engine screen while running trains.

Yes, I've had a couple of runaway engines on the iPhone app with the WTIU wired in Passive Mode. (I now use Fixed Channel 2 because Fixed Channel 1's DCS signal is not as reliable for me. I found this on two WTIU's.)  On the DCS app page with a gear symbol, I set maximum speed to 50.  Nevertheless, I've noticed if I accidentally touch the screen in the upper-left area, just outside the odometer, it takes off to 50!  So now I make extra sure the engine is totally dead before I put the iPhone in a pocket.

The app is super easy to accidently touch a part of the screen that makes the speedometer go to the max.  I have done it a couple times.  It's not responsive enough in time to stop it.   I always set a max speed limit on every engine when setting it up and then you won't have that issue again.  Honestly, I have no idea why MTH even lets the speedometer go that high to begin with.  No train could run that fast.

I use an older iPhone (as an remote!) and had that problem a few times.

Initially the phones display setting was on Zoom larger text.

I noticed when I hit the bell button the engine would race off because my finger would touch the speed dial area.

restoring the display to default cured that problem.

I also set speed limits for all engines just in case.

When the screen is zoomed, the area by the knife point would almost touch causing a speed issue when you only wanted to sound the bell.
