Dec 14 - 3rd LCCA Annual Christmas Open House in Leland Iowa A Huge Success (Recap)
Lionel Collectors Club of America (LCCA) members Bob Ver Hoef and Pam Richardson hosted another Great Christmas Season Open House event on Saturday, December 14, 2013, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. CST. This year's Special Event was even larger than last year's event. Bob hosted a toy train swap meet across the street. Bob and Pam served free coffee, cookies, and cider along with door prizes provided by the LCCA. This LCCA Special Event was so successful, it made the local newspapers and TV news.
The best new addition for this year's event was when Asher E. Age 7, a child from the North Iowa Make-A-Wish Foundation served as the Honorary Engineer for the day. Asher loves trains! The LCCA donated an new Lionel starter set for Asher E. to enjoy. He was so excited, he wouldn’t let go of the Lionel train box. Thank you to all of the members who attended and to Bob Ver Hoef and Pam Richardson for hosting such a fun and worthwhile event.
