Looking to kitbash a NYC L-2a Mohawk into a NYO&W Y-2 Mountain (copy of NYC L-2c with some road specific changes)).  Looking for detail parts, particularly sand domes, pilot air pump shield, & smoke box front.

Has anyone assembled a "list" of locomotive detail pars suppliers?

I may venture into 3D printing and casting some parts.

Thanks.

Jim

I'm not aware of a "list of suppliers", however Precision Scale (PSC) has/had a VERY extensive list of all their various O Scale parts. There really are not that many suppliers of O Scale detail parts for steam locomotives.

If you are going to build, modify, or upgrade O gauge steam engines you must have a Precision Scale Catalog.  The catalog used to cost $25 but can now be downloaded for free:

https://www.precisionscaleco.com/

Its around 400 pages long.  Also in the kit section of the catalog there are useful drawings of how different types locomotive appliances are piped.

Steven Preservation lines also has a large selection of o scale steam parts and he's good to deal with

The old Back Shop lost wax castings are available from Wiseman Model Services.  He is also good to deal with

http://www.wisemanmodelservices.com/

His website is a bit more difficult to navigate but will find some great O Scale stuff as you poke through it.
