Detroit Toledo & Ironton question

Don't know enuff about the DT&I to answer your question, Brother, but I did want to complement you on your work on the caboose.  Was that from a kit or did you scratch build it?  Nice, sharp detail work on the window frames, and the idea of different sized siding boards is a real winner.

I don't have a picture of the 80 series but I do have of the 70 and 90 series which look identical.  I was hoping to get one of these before you retired from cab building.  If you want a higher res pic I can email you one.

Thank you. This one is going to be A&D. Is there decals available to do one in DTI? I have 3 of these, 2 of them A&D and the third Monticello, Columbia & Gulf.

There should be DT&I decals to do one.  I had a friend of mine reletter my Lionel 0-6-0T to DT&I with the compass logo shown in one of the pictures above.

BTW, DT&I #77 is preserved in the Henry Ford museum in Dearborn, MI  It was restored a few (well, probably more than a few now) years ago and looks beautiful.

Finding the "Round" logo in decal is very hard.  I found one site where he will print in any scale and has a box car decal that would work, cut up.  Everything else is the later compass logo.  http://home.comcast.net/~jerryglow/decals/full.html  I think the DT&I used the same stencil for everything.

There is also a "Car Builders Cyclopedia" which covers these cabs but I don't know which year.

Champ Decals made an O scale DT&I roadname set in white with the Ford-era DT&I logo. I don't remember the number off the top of my head, but they show up of the bay from time to time. Microscale also has a set for the DT&I GP7s with black Ford DT&I locos in HO which would work well.

Fellas- a helpful thread.   I am attempting to decal a brass single sheathed car in the old round herald.   may use the HO set mentioned.

I was on the DT&I blog for a while and attended a couple of their "meets".  I think

somebody had reproduced the Ford era "coin" logo in a decal.  They had cast the

raised tender coins (emblems), and I have a couple of those.

I would like a pair of the raised tender coins.  I am redoing a MTH Russian Decapod 2-10-10 to DT&I and they would go great on the tender.

loco-dan:  I just tried to find old emails, unsuccessfully, for the decals, but didn't

see those for the coins, either.  I think I got mine for just that purpose...to put on

a Russian decapod, but decided to wait to see if another decapod (Baldwin) would be

made and free up my Russian one.  I will take another look.  Somebody made those.

I found an email that said Walthers made the O scale DT&I decal #17700.  I have found the source for HO tender coins, and am trying to verify (have emailed the request) that is where I got O scale ones.
