Device to run conventional trains in MTH DCS

You're talking about the MTH Z4001 remote control I suspect.

MTH used to sell those, and the receivers are still floating round on the used market.  You can use the DCS remote to talk to the receiver, look in Barry's book for Z4K tracks to see how they're used.

The receiver is the same in both, and can get commands either from a Z4000 remote or the normal DCS remote- programmed for a Z4000 track.

It's an older item no longer made so used you would find them on the bay or a forum sponsor like Trainz. Also see them at trainshows.

I use one on a regular basis on my home layout and love it- the Z4000 remote displays the voltage on the remote.
