I sure hope the Big Boys are on time which are due in a week from today.

I heard May as well. Personally, I think that is optimistic. I think Lionel would have to contract another production run of these models and that might take some time. Frankly, I'll believe it when I see them in person.

It is fairly disconcerting what transpired. I am perplexed by this Built to order, and regardless of fault, it didn't work for those of us who ordered through Charles Ro, although he must have received and sold some number of these Berks. Had I not read this forum last week I would have never known what was transpiring, and would not have called Charles Ro when I did. To add salt to the wound, I contacted two other dealers who told me once the Berks sell out there'll be no more. So, I scrambled to order one and ended up paying more than I would have with my pre-order, and received a PE Berk with a Pere Marquette tender (from a well-known dealer who advertises on this forum and the magazines). To his defense, his store does not normally open up and inspect trains.

It's reasonable to think that the vast majority of O-gaugers who pre-ordered do not read this forum, and very well may be waiting on their PE Berk.

This process has been pathetic from any reasonable business standpoint.

Paul, I'm really glad for those of us who pushed the panic button. I'm just really happy I got mine now.

Anyone here about the Big Boys...are they on time?? lol

Matt, I am hoping I'll be glad too, once I get the PE tender from Lionel. I received an RA to return the PM tender yesterday, and shipped it today.

Wow, I just read this post.  We can speculate all day long on who is to blame, etc. But the only real question is will Lionel make right a problem with their biggest vendor.  I have no doubt they will.  Second, this type of problem could happen to any major dealer and the dealers do try and help one another,  but the size of this order was too big, really it's too big to fail.

Let's hope that whatever the problem, a data entry mistake or software problem, that it gets fixed.  Relatively speaking a bad day with Lionel trains is a whole lot better than a bad day in an operating room where the patient died...

All is well that ends well.

I received my PE tender from Lionel and am happy to say the Polar Express has arrived. It is an awesome electric toy train. For the money it should be, but you never know how these things will look and sound. The only thing I will change is the cab figures, probably with Artista, something I've done with other Lionel steamers. The sounds are incredible. I've been learning how to use the train-brake slider on the Legacy remote, it simulates pooling a heavy load, labored chuffing, and momentum.

I received shipping notices from Charles Ro, so I envision the PE cars and PR items are on their way.
