These cars are being shipped out now. The 2024 V2 describes them but does not mention aluminum body construction. Yet the Lionel product page says they are aluminum, https://www.lionel.com/product...r-21-4-pack-2527460/. The Station Sounds Diner SKU 2527480 is not described as aluminum on its product page https://www.lionel.com/product...ds-doom-car-2527480/. So it is confusing. Lionel has been producing 21" passenger cars in plastic as of late. I have these on order and they are supposed to be here tomorrow, 3/14/25, so it would be a nice surprise if they are aluminum. But which are they?

I can't explain what went wrong with that but try it now.

Thank you, they work now. I was unfamiliar with the set, now I know what it is. Kind of a neat paint scheme.
I like the doomliners. Hoping to see pictures soon. I may get them before they disappear
I like them too and I thought they might be a sleeper desireable set in the future. Unfortunately although the cars are scheduled for delivery today, the PA AA locomotives and Super Bass PB will not be shipped until July or August, if then so the cars will be waiting for that. I'll unbox them and take some pictures and share them after I clear another consist off my layout though.
They can be seen in the 2024 V2 catalog; https://catalogs.lionel.com/2024/c2/ , in the Halloween scale section.

Nice! I look forward to seeing them, I have them in my cart… but before I commit I want to make sure Lionel didn’t deliver them with horrible colors.
I think Lionel got the colors right, black/purple. There is also a subtle but cool lightning stripe on the roof. I just opened the 2 pack to give you a sample. The domes don't illuminate but they don't on the North Pole Central or the 20th Century Limited either. I hope you order from Charles Ro because their prices are as low or lower than anyone. They don't charge sales tax and their shipping is low because it is based on price, not weight. They shipped all 3 pieces, the 4 pk, 2 pk and SS diner, in the Lionel shipping cartons, in 1 big outer carton. With the Doom Liner locomotives, including a NYC 700E Hudson, shipping was $40 plus $10 per seperate shipment. So since I also had a milk car on this order that I received a while ago I paid $40 shipment on that, so I paid $10 on this shipment. So I will pay another $20 over the life of this order which will cover packaging and handleing.

I just remembered the 20th Century Limited didn't have dome cars. And the bodies are indeed plastic. Lionel should correct their product page description.

Man oh man...I'm on the fence...love the spooky stuff...love the artwork for the matching PAs...but does it make sense to run the PAs with anything but these cars?

I doubt it. If someone isn't going to buy the cars, why buy the locomotives?
