After your nice comments on the photos I posted on my latest downtown building, I thought I would conduct a bit of a tour of where we are now.  The Chicago station sits over the passenger tracks as in real Chicago, but my subway line also serves downtown.  So, let's start with the Union Station stop on the subway

The other way to get into downtown is by highway

The west side of downtown features the bus station and the cathedral

Some downtown housing comes from kitbashed MTH townhouse buildings.  I wanted to make them more like my family's old rowhouse in Manhattan where the first floor was a half floor up, on top of a basement level floor.

Eventually new commercial buildings will fill in the gap between the cathedral and Woolworth's

Finally, here is the platform level of Chicago Union Station

And all three tiers of downtown.

I had the good fortune of visiting Peter last Monday and seeing his layout. This is just a small part and he definitely has a sense of humor with aliens and even a UFO. If you're ever in the area, I suggest you try to arrange a visit. He even has a Mianne powered lift gate that really works nice so there is no need to duck under. Heck, I even loved the wall paper in the lounge area. If you're ever in the area, I suggest you try to arrange a visit. I'll definitely try to make a return visit when they have their next open house, definitely worth the 2-hr drive.
