does anyone know if the shorter draw bar that came with the Berkshire locomotive (that connects the tender to the locomotive) will work on Lionel 036 fast track? MTH has a smaller curve than Lionel fast track right? So I was wondering if I could get away with putting the short bar on so it would look more realistic. I didn't want to take the one that's on there off and mess with it unless I know the short one will work.

Real Trax has an 031 minimum curve and Fastrack has an 036 minimum curve. Five inches is not much of a difference, so I suggest that you try the short draw-bar on track that has no power. I also suggest that you try the short draw-bar on a switch.
Watch to see if the draw-bar will short out on the locomotive's body. Watch how the pickup rollers act. Also watch what happens between the tender and locomotive cab. If the clearance goes to zero, the locomotive will derail.
