You're a basher - a guy after my own heart. Looks good - so far as I can tell. (How about a slower speed video?)

The old Williams Century Hudson superstructure always deserved better running gear. Did you use a Premier or RK chassis; I presume Premier as the Williams donor loco is 1:48. Good idea.

I used parts from one of those old Wms Dreyfuss to streamline a modern TMCC Lionel J1e.

Below: Wms tender w/skirting and Lionel guts. Lionel loco with Williams brass streamlining parts.

Well I have a limited budget so I used an old Railking L-3 Mohawk chassis I got for a great  price due to the fact that the sound system and most of the electronics were removed. So it is not a great sacrifice.I put in an operating headlight and made brackets to adapt the chassis to fit the brass boiler. Not correct but it does run well.

Even better - that's what hot-rodding is all about - getting creative with what you have and can get. Your loco isn't an "incorrect Hudson" - it's the first Century-styled Mohawk. Still generally a step up from the original mechanicals.

Wow, what a great job and great attention to detail. You even left off the panels that were left off during maintenance. Very nice!!!!

Thanks a lot.

So far as I know, the 5344, the only J1 ever streamlined in the Century style, never had the "complete" shrouding over the air pumps that the streamlined J3a's did when built. Those did tend to wander off later in life.
