On the new Duckunder Terminal Railway, the humble little burg of Prosperity, West Virginia boasts not one, but two, coal tipples that keep the local economy thriving.
On the west end of town is the Polecat Peerless Pocahontas Colliery (known in rail waybill shorthand as PO-PE-PO-CO). The reality of its modest, timeworn tipple seems in contrast to its lofty name. Grades of coal are limited to run-of-mine and two other mixed size products, but it is all high quality Pocahontas black diamonds.
On the east end of town one finds a larger coal tipple operation, that of Clyde Klinker Coal & Coke (or KLINK-CO on rail waybills). The Klinker property has three times the output of Polecat Peerless and four times more employees. It also boasts of its excellent Pocahontas-grade coal and can sort into almost any size grade required. Clyde Klinker also sells dustless coal (spraying with kerosene is the key).
The Prosperity scene is coming along nicely. Note that George Lasley, practically a teetotaler, is nonetheless getting plastered in two of the photos.
