At Trainfest in Milwaukee which was 3 weeks ago , I asked Lionel when the NS ES44AC's would be shipping.  They told me they were in production right now and would ship by the end of of the year.

Translation = Dec 32nd shipment, with arrival in large dealers in early- to mid-January.  No rush.  As with everything these days, they get here when they get here... Always difficult to pinpoint delivery dates.

I just received a shipping notice that my PE boxcar was on the way.  The car is

dated 2004 - 2014.  It's almost 2004 so it will be here in time for the whole year.

Yep!  And the boxcar even states "2003-2013" on the side.  An error, or just an early attempt to cash in?

 

EDIT:  Wait, did they correct the date from how it appeared in the catalog?  I've not seen it in person yet.

Yep. It appears that the catalog pics and various screen grabs that you find on dealers sites have 2003 - 2013 while the actual product as delivered is 2004 - 2014.
