eBay throw in find

picked up a Lionel Winner 1011 Pullman this week on the cheap. It was packaged with a late Hafner-Wyandotte box-type tender and this tunnel, which I believe is Dorfan or Fandor?

The ends and sides are both lithoed and textured and it appears they may have been slotted for a cross bar to hold the tunnel open. Definitely small O gauge or OO gauge in size.

Anyway, it was basically free with the purchase, nice to make out on a package deal once in a while. If anyone knows the manufacturer, let me know.

Hello Jim,

I found this old catalogue picture (from the Dorfan 1930 catalogue) in "American premium guide to electric trains" by Richard o'Brien from 1986. So to me it looks you have the Dorfan no 310 tunnel. You could check the measurements of course.

thank you Fred. I suspect it is a later version of the 310. The original does not have the last sharp curve at the bottom of the hill and said Dorfan Heights on the road sign at the bottom of the hill, whereas mine says "dangerous sharp curve" and the litho shows one last curve at that sign on the bottom left. The Fandor tunnel is built very similar and the size is closer but with an entirely different litho. Of course Fandor lithography looks more "primitive" as it should be for its age.
