Is it common for a engine to run slower in one direction versus the other? I'm not talking forward and reverse. I'm talking running on a loop of track clockwise vs. counterclockwise. When I take my engine from one end of the train and pick it up and put it on the other end of the train, it runs slower in one direction over the other. The engine is orientated the same way in both situations. Just wondering if this is common, and what could cause it? Could it be the transformer? I'm running inexpensive BW Transformers. It's a lower-end Lionel lionchief diesel locomotive. In both situations the Transformer is all the way up, approximately 17 volts, and the thumb wheel on the remote is set to the exact same notch.
