Hello-
My MTH PS-2 4-4-0 N.Y. & N.E. is just playing the whistle and the bell sound. I ran the locomotive on DCS two Sundays ago and I think that had something to do with it. Can I just reset the locomotive and have it go back to normal? Please post your thoughts and idea's.

Start with a conventional reset, whistle and five bells. The timing is a bit touchy, check the manual for the sequence.
So, I can just Factory reset it on DCS too. Thank you!
Certainly try it with DCS, but a conventional reset is different.
Conventional reset must be done with no DCS signal on the tracks, using transformer whistle & bell buttons. The 2 DCS resets are different.
I offer no opinion on what will cure the issue.
Josh, Yes,, running it on DCS you may have customized the sounds and than the engine stored those settings when you shutdown.
Since you have DCS you can easily just do a feature reset with DCS and see if that clears it up. That keeps the engine in the remote, but goes back to default settings.
If that doesn't work, than try a factory reset with DCS. That will delete the engine from the remote, and you can than try it in conventional, or go and readd to DCS and see if that solves the volume/sound issues.
If you have this engine up on DCS you can hit the menu button, than select Sounds to see if you modified anything. G
