Engine will not run

Did you try a factory or feature reset?  G

Thanks G,  I have not tried a reset as of yet.  I thought it might be something like a hidden toggle switch that I did not have in the correct position. Since it’s already set for DCS I’ll try the resets next.

Tonight I tried both the feature and factory reset. Neither worked.  Smoke and sounds work fine but the engine will not run in either forward or reverse.

what should I look for next?

Tender / engine draw bar  seated correctly ?  Might be worth checking out.

Flipped the engine over and assured draw bar was seated properly.  Still no forward or reverse?

did you check the plug on the board that feeds the motor maybe it is not fully connected I would reseat all connecters just to be sure!

At this point I would open engine and check leads to motor, maybe one is off, or connector at boiler board.  If this is "New", I would look at warranty service. G

While it shouldn't make any difference, you can try a W-B-B-B-B-B (W=Whistle. B=Bell) Conventional AC reset to see if issue clears up. DCS and Conventional are loosely (very loosely) tied together for some things. And while a Conventional Reset shouldn't impact DCS operation it's worth a shot as we've seen weirder things fix odd problems.

Beyond that, you are looking at the following as the usual suspects:

• Broken motor wire at the motor
• Broken motor wire at the 8-pin Boiler Board connection
• Smashed/damaged wire in between the two
• Software issue with the boiler/hardware table/ DSP code. For this you could attempt to load the Consumer Package Code files off our website

After that it's time to give us or an ASC a call to see about having someone look at it.
