I have watched the Legacy Station video of the installation of command control and noticed that it is made up of two boards.A base mother board and a plug in board which was called R4L.The photos on their website only show the base board not the R4L board.Is this R4L board optional or is it included in the command installation package.Also what is the best way to mount the antenna in a brass tender.

Yes, when you order the cruise commander, the R4LC comes with it. Download the installation instructions from ERR to familiarize yourself with typical applications. Concealing the insulated antenna wire under a coal load is one method...some isolate the entire tender shell and use it as the antenna.

For your antenna I no idea but as for the R4L it comes with it. They show the other board so you can see the simple connection you will make. It also doesn't show the wiring that comes with it.
Not much wiring comes with it, just some wires blue and yellow wires to connect the motors, an antenna lead, and the PGM/RUN switch with wires attached. The rest of the wiring for track power, smoke, lights, chuff, etc. are supplied by the installer.
