Hello folks; have two Lionel RG SD40T-2 locos; one is the conv/28247 and the other is TMCC/Odyssey/28542.  Plan is to upgrade the conv/28247 to ERR cruise.  Both have the same gear ratios; question:  will  the ERR Cruise Cmdr play nicely with the Odyssey loco?  Know the ERR has the "nudge" option but do not know if it is designed for another ERR or to lash up with Odyssey; does any one have scar tissue on this mix.  Thanks much for your input; Falcon70

The Cruise Commander has its own version of Odyssey thats where the "Cruise" part comes form. You need to remeber that Lionel TMCC lcoos have 32 speed steps, ERR boards have 32 and 100 speed steps and Legacy locos have 200 speed steps. When building a consist with locos of differnt types you ned to put the one with the fewest speed steps as the lead and the rest will program to follow. If you put a 100 or 200 speed step loco in front of a 32 speed step loco your locos will all be trying to run at the higher speed step and will fight each other

Matt, thanks for the comeback; the TMCC/28542 with Odyssey has 32 speed steps and should be in the lead; I should be able to use the ERR Cruise loco as the trailer; I was not sure of the speed steps with Odyssey (32?); will have to run them separate and then latch up; correct me if in error but I believe the Odyssey speed steps are not linear where as the ERR are linear; may have to play with the ERR speed steps to match up.  Thinking you have been there!  Thanks again; Falcon70
