Before I power up I thought I would double check with those who know better.  The manual just indicates chuff in and does not indicate if  Chuff in goes through the chuff switch to chassis ground  or must it go to the chuff switch and back to the COM connection next to chuff in on the Cruise Commander board ?    Thanks in advance,    John

The "common" connections are tied to "AC Common" which should be connected to outside rail and chassis ground. As long as you have the track connections located next to the motor connections connected to their proper locations you can  use common or chassis ground for the other side of the chuff switch.

I always use the common terminal next to chuff in though.

you can verify this with an ohmmeter, power off.
