I previously installed an ERR rail sound commander in an old MPC steamer and it was a great improvement. So, I was thinking of replacing the whistle in an old 263e steam engine. The ERR unit is small enough to fit nicely and am sure it would be an improvement. Keeping the original just in case, but the original would not be as loud as the ERR unit...Your thoughts....Thanks.

Thanks John, The kit I bought and installed in a mpc 783 came with the small board, speaker and the chuff switch (reed switch & magnet). It was so easy to install and have the option of installing the chuff or not. It really upgraded the bell and whistle from the sound of steam..(conventional) Then the stuff hit the fan and blew me out of the water. hopefully scott mann does well taking over.
