I installed a mini-commander in a tender so that I can use it as an aux tender.  I'm having a couple of problems I hope someone can help me with.

First, I cannot get the front headlamp to light.  I tried to follow the mini-commander instructions, and have the lights wired correctly.  What I cannot seem to do is get the mini-commander to enter setup mode so that I can set the proper function for the L2 socket.  Does anyone have advice on how to set it such that I have both front and rear lights?

Second, I would like to make a lashup so that the tender's rear coupler fires instead of the locomotive's, and also so that the direction lights are appropriately lit.  I need to do the lashup with a Legacy locomotive.  I've tried setting the tender as an AUX tender, and also as a Diesel in the Legacy remote.  When in the lashup, the tender does not respond to any commands.  I am not sure if a TMCC control board can be in a lash up with a Legacy one.  Can they?  If yes, then does anyone have any idea how to get these to work properly together?

Thanks for any help!

I did this only once. I set both boards to the same engine ID. You could wire the aux tender coupler to the front coupler socket and hit front coupler if you wanted the aux tender coupler to open since I assume there is no working front coupler on the engine. Rear light to the rear light connector should work when you are in reverse.

It's an LED, but I think it has a resistor already wired into it.  The rear one lights just fine, and if I switch plugs on the ERR board, the front one lights fine.  I just can't get the "L2" socket on the board to work like it should.  I've also now noticed I don't get the flashing light when the board is supposed to be in program mode.  I can't get it to light with either the soft programming method or by toggling the switch I installed per the instructions.  I'm thinking I'm not doing something right and it may just not be entering the programming mode.
