I just purchased a little steam engine from England that runs on 3 rail DC. Works great on my streets track but not my goal.
I'd like to run it on my regular O 3 rail track. However, it's powered by MTH Z-4000s. The engine instructions are clear not to run it on AC power. If I have it right, the Z-4000 is AC and my MTH/Lionel engines convert the power to DC on the engine.
How can I go about getting this moving using my Z-4000 or what are my other options?

A bridge rectifier installed into the engine will convert the AC to DC.
Dallee sells electronic E-units. Very easy to install - I did it on an Ace 3-rail DC loco. Dallee has three options depending on how many amps you need.
