As anyone who's been on my YouTube channel a while knows, AVR was famous (to me) in the early 2000s for using several ex-IC GP11s with RS5Ts on its trains. They were a mainstay on AVR-3 up until 2014, when the turn started running with the ex-KCS GP40-3s for frac sand loads. Of the seven, four have been sold elsewhere from 2018 through the present, and the remaining three usually handle evening yard jobs out of Glenwood. On this random Tuesday, the yard crew had enough time to run the coil cars out to Galvtech, a job usually handled by the AVR-6 before it heads to Island Ave. I was hoping for some RS5T action, but instead got to briefly chat with Carload's media director, who was out hoping for some snow shots.
