A few years ago I bought a NOS F3 Premier A-B-A set locally; it ran good.  I started with problems after moving and starting it up on my new layout. I needed a new wiring harness between the Trailing A to B unit and discovered my 10 position harness is no longer made. The down loaded parts diagrams with parts lists call out 4 position connectors. Some of the PS2 engines for sale on Ebay clearly show a 10 position (2X5).  The pictures in operator's manual I got with set are not clear regarding the connectors. Also the pictures of the lead A shown have much fewer wires bundled over the mid-position battery.

I have harness in stock.  As stated PS-1 was 4 pin.  Railking PS-2 if they had a dummy trail unit would be 4 pin also.  Premier with PS-2 that have powered As and dummy B use 10 pin.  Along with the early PS-3 engines.  Email in my profile.  Just tell me length of your harness.  Also be clear is the Lead A harness bad, or the one in the B unit.  If you run AA together all is well?  G

G;

Thanks for the info on the connectors. I have the Premier PS2 A-B-A with the 10 Pin connectors. The trailing A has the problem with Harness between the SLAVE PWB and connector.

BUT There is more. This started when I noticed the trailing A was lagging in both the A-B-A and A-A configurations running with some intermittent stalling in each direction at different track sections.  I proceeded to to lube both A's. No different with the intermittent stalling continuing. I ran these units with the shells removed. The motors in the trailing unit where not running smooth and out of sync with the Lead A motors. The Leading A was a consistent good runner. I need to go further since there is excessive lengths of leads in the Lead A compared to the Owners Manual pictures.

Thanks,

Charlie
