Fandor kind of weekend

I like the Fandor cars too. here the same coaches as NYC.

Those are all nifty cars but they made the wheels and trucks so big! A hallmark of the early years.

i only have a few Fandor pieces and they are all 4-wheel freight cars, but my guess is that their passenger cars were also built to a small scale so the wheel size is a lot more exaggerated, especially when they have to sit completely below 4-wheel truck bolsters.

it is rather funny seeing a passenger car wheel just about as big as a doorway, though.

my guess would be so that small hands can get the trucks on the track easier.
