I have a number of fastback 048 command control switches. They are very nice, smooth and look great. One of them has taken to locking up after I operate it. I took the bottom off it and could not find anything obviously wrong. I'm wondering if the little motor is somehow jamming. Has anyone else had the problem? Thanks,

Yes.the motor pinion rides up over the rack teeth. Not obvious and I didn't see any way to fix it...there might have been a short tooth on the pinion. But I just put in a new motor with pinion, and it's worked ever since.
I had two of these and the second one I did determine that a tooth was distorted on the motor pinion. New motor again.
BTW, when the first one hung up, to get going that night, I rapped the switch with a screwdriver handle. That unhung it for the evening .
What voltage are you running the switch at.
I am running TMCC at 18 v.
CJack, did you get a new motor from Lionel parts direct? I suspect the motor shaft has play and can "wobble" a little.
Thanks

Yes, from Lionel. Could have been that on the first one. The second one was a flat gear tooth.
