I am in the process of wiring my Fastrack switches for direct power. In the instructions it says that I need to attache both a hot wire and a ground wire to the switch aux in and ground terminal. On the Lionel video it shows just to put the hot wire to the bottom of the switch and does not show a ground wire being installed which then implies that the outside rail will supply the ground. Am I correct that I do not need to attache a ground wire to the switch. Also I am planning to us 18 gauge speaker wire for the hot wire in that I have a lot of that left over from a previous project. Is that an acceptable wire to use?
