Say it isn't so. I was in a 155 Towed Btry. the old M-114's. I always marveled at the 8" crews, and thankful I wasn't assigned to one. SOTOT.
Great buy.
Here's my 2 rail Kusan Army train set. Cannon actually fires a shell but this one is broken.
Also if your ever near Yuma Arizona make sure you stop out at the Army Desert Proving Grounds. They have a nice display of vehicles and a great museum.

Didn't know there were many redlegs on this forum.
I also was M114 towed 155 (FDC), although almost all our moves were done by air instead of road. Kind of makes a guy feel his age when the basis of his memories are now on display in a museum . As I recall, carriages for the 8" and 175's were the same on the SP units and some batteries would carry both to be swapped back and forth as needed.
At one time I had models of all of these, but gave them away years ago. Makes for an interesting display in a railroad setting.
if you are interested there are kits on e bay for 8" and 155 Howitzers
I bought an 8" in 1:32 scale on e bay for display also the one on the flat car is 1:48 scale and its also on e bay
Bill,
My favorite Military Train has a Special Forces Engine and nice Rolling stock both Personnel and all kinds of different Military Box Car and Flat Car Loads. My favorite Military Train piece is the SF Engine. However the new Menard's WWII Commemorative Box Cars are right there with it, way cool stuff.

Oh Boy No way in the world I can go with one. All of them are outstanding.
Love the pictures so far.
My most favorite subject is TOY Military trains.
This is a few because I don't want to bore you guys and gals to death. Just can't help it when it comes to the Military train stuff. This is a few of my toys.
Larry.
Keep your photos coming
It's not 3-rail, but I think I made a decent representation of the Army short NG boxcars. I created my own decals for these, including a 1917 build date to use with this paint scheme:
