Firebox Glow on MTH-Premier Engines

LEDs may have gone out.  Try swapping one to confirm.  G

GGG, I have never swapped out a led on a steam engine, I don't know how to swap them out.........rogerw.

If you're using DCS, have you used the soft keys to turn it back on?

If you cannot find the soft key, do a DCS Feature Reset:

Menu/Advanced/Reset Engine/Feature Reset, select the engine and press the thumbwheel twice.

If you aren't using DCS, do a transformer reset: 1 Whistle followed by 5 Bells, 1/2 second presses with `1/2 second pauses in-between. Success is indicated by 2 short whistle toots.

If the LEDs are going bad in multiple locomotives, I'd start to be concerned.  LEDs that are properly powered should last longer than you will!

Gunrunnerjohn, Leds is only not working in those two engines that I just mentioned. I do have a Southern PS-4 steam engine (PS3), that also has the firebox glow and it still works. I have a total of 9 MTH-Premier PS-3 engines (steam and diesel). Only the "J" and Class A has issues with firebox glow..............rogerw.

Barry, I did try the soft keys to toggle firebox glow on and off. I will retry a full factory reset on both engines to see if I can get firebox glow to work. All other leds on both engines works properly.....................rogerw.

Your engines are under warranty. Send them back to get fixed.

Hello All! I followed Barry B's advice and factory reset both of my steam engines. The firebox glow came on both engines!!! Thanks to all for your suggestions!! Another question(s) concerning the firebox glow, what would make the firebox glow go out in the first place? Why couldn't I reset the firebox glow using the soft keys (LFB)???...............................rogerw.
