JohnA,
Thank you. On that project, Al did run his equipment conventionally, but he wanted intricacy with turnouts (routes) and signals. He's an engineer so we knew we had it coming.

@luvindemtrains posted:Thanks Mark! Because he's done this many many times and does it for a living, "sloppy" is not an option.
Dave
You are right, Dave! Yes, it was my first try. I did not have much headroom with 7-1/2 foot ceiling either. A literal pain in the neck! 😄
Mark,
I'm sure you learned some things that first time so if you were to do it again, it would be done better.
Dave
Dave, yes you are correct! I never did it over because our daughters got married and moved out. That gave me access to one of their rooms for my layout room.
Good day everyone. Here's part 2 of the "Radest" build
Thank you for some more video of the exterior and interior of the great looking building!
Great looking work on the layout! I'm either showing my age or the abuse on myself during my working years, but watching the gents work make my knees and keister hurt!!!
Please keep the videos coming, Dave!!
Can't wait for part 3 - I wanna see how you guys carve that foam
Mark- Thank you and trust me, I used my knee pads many times.
John-It's coming but in the meantime, it's the same process I used in the first video in this thread.
Dave
Good morning forumites! Here's the conclusion to this episode. More in the series to come, including work done on other scales. Hope you enjoy
Dave
Very nice video, Dave! Using that spray foam occurred to me to use on a layout over 30 years ago. It worked out pretty well. Yes it does make a mess forming it into the final configuration.
Thank you Mark. Yes it can be a mess but I think it's worth the time it takes to clean it up.
Dave
Good Evening Everyone. Here is something a little different. This thread was started to showcase the work that I do part-time with Train Installations, which is a forum sponsor. The owner of the company is Dave Bennett. He recently moved his shop into a new facility that has more space, storage, and most of all climate control. This is a video I made of his grand opening for the new workshop.
I might add, this is not a store but there are items that Dave has for sale inside. If you are ever in the Atlanta, Georgia area or plan to be and would like to stop by, I'm sure Dave would love to have you.
Hope you enjoy!
Dave
Fabulous stuff!
Peter
Thanks Peter. I think so as well.
Dave
That's a great place Dave has to build layouts! Thank you for the video, Dave.
Thank you Mark. I agree and I think all of the staff does too.
Dave
Hope everyone is doing well today. Here is my documentation of a big O Scale job we did. I kept going back at various phases of the project, so this production will be broken up into at least 3 parts. Just in case you miss it in the video, this layout was featured in a past issue of the OGR magazine. After seeing it, I'm sure you will understand why. Please enjoy this first episode.
Dave
That's a very nice layout! Thank you for taking the time to take the videos and sharing with us!
Happy Independence Day 2023 Forumites! Here's the second video on the work we did on this layout. In all honesty, I recorded more "fun" than work but don't tell Dave B. Please enjoy.
Dave
Dave, that is a really nice layout! Thank you for taking the video and sharing it with us!
Mark,
I agree. I kind of feel bad that I didn't concentrate more on the work that we did. I just wanted to catch as much of the layout as possible.
Dave
Dave, Dave is paying you to work, not take videos. 😄 It would have been nice to see how work was done, but that isn’t Dave’s focus is my guess. Well done!
Dave, …..what’s the connection with Harmon?…😁
Pat
Mark-You are absolutely correct. Most of the filming I did was on breaks or before and after the work hours. Dave is pretty flexible as long as goal for the day is met. I usually record whatever I want but always acknowledge his company when applicable.
Pat-Do you know him or does the question have something to do with "harmonyards"?

Dave, I do not know him, …..hence the question,
Pat
Pat,
We met him through his hiring us to work on his layout.

I gotcha, ….is the fella modeling Harmon, ( Croton) or his name Harmon? ….I’m just curious the connection,….I model Harmon, so your post is intriguing,…..cool stuff!
Pat
Hope all is well. Here is the finale to the work I did on this layout with forum sponsor Train Installations. Many times I start working on a project with the company, but due to work and other commitments am unable to see the project through to the end. This time I got to work to the end and really enjoyed seeing the final results and being able to say I was a part of it.

Pat,
I thought that your question had something to do with your handle and what you model. In this case, the customer's name is Harmon. I say it a few times throughout the video.
Dave
Here's a change of pace. This is part one of a fun G Scale layout that I got to "play" with.
Dave
The layout looks great now! You get some neat opportunities, Dave!!
Thanks Mark! Yes, I really get an education through these projects. I also get the opportunity to work with different scales, which ultimately helps with what I am doing with my layout.
Dave
Here's the second part of this whimsical and fun layout that I had the pleasure of working on with forum sponsor Train Installations.
Dave
This was a fun project I hopped on midway. The client says he wanted it for his "grandkids".
Dave
Looks great
Thank you Ron!
Dave
Dave, It's always for the grandkids!! Excellent job!
I'll have to adopt that saying, that it is for the grandkids. Oh, by the way, the only kid is me!
Thanks Mark! There's nothing wrong with saying it's for me AND the grandkids, right?
Dave
Dave, is it still alright to say since we don’t have any grandchildren?? Does grandchildren in Grandma’s hopes count? 😄
Good day everyone. Here's the latest installment of my work with Dave Bennett of Train Installations. This project was a close to real as we've done to date. Enjoy.
