I have a FlyerChief Berkshire that the sound volume is barely audible, until recently it ran great. The chuff sound is particularly weak. I have tried both the FlerChief control and using the Bluetooth I-Phone option without success. Everything else seems good. I welcome any thoughts. Thanks, in advance. Mike

Mike, Has the sound always been weak? I have the PE and the NKP Berks and they were never really weak in the sound department. I found that there was not enough volume when we ran them in shows especially in buildings with high ceilings. I did change the speakers in both for use at shows and it helped quite a bit. I added the Fatboy speakers from ERR, that made a very noticeable difference.

Ray,
Thanks for responding. For months it ran well, now not. I have other FlyerChief engines, and they run well. I am hoping it is not a failed sound board. I did play with both the engine switches for sound and the I-Phone sound controls. Also tried settings on the FlyerChief controller No success yet. Mike
Mike,
You mentioned that the engine ran well, l'm not certain if you are referring to how it operates in running around on the track, or just the way sounds are perfoming.
You might pull the tender shell and take a look at the speaker, it might be that the speaker or the speaker enclosure has failed. I would look inside the tender before assuming the board has gone bad. If you have another 8 ohm speaker you could try connecting it but keep in mind the enclosure for the speaker is very important.
Ray
Ray,
Thanks. Will do.
