Either one is good. If saving $200 is better for you, go with the older one, the older "korean made" tmcc lionmasters are a bit more reliable than the newer "chinese made" ones with the extra electronic goodies. If money is no object than get the legacy version, to have the "latest and greatest".
I have the old TMCC Lionmasters and they are great looking locomotives. Running them with a Legacy system amplifies the sound beyond what is available in conventional operations. The double smokestack on the Challenger puts smoke out at slightly forward and rearward angles from each spout. The new Legacy adds working tender marker lights and a realistic coal load. I prefer the nonreal coal loads in semiscale because the real coal loads can chip away and one has to wonder how long the glue can continue to hold them together once it starts drying out.
