Terry: Supplementing what Lee posted, to further narrow down the production date of your 2026, if it has a 2-wheel trailing truck then its from 1948 or ’49 and it should have sliding shoe center rail pickups.  If it has a 4-wheel trailing truck then it’s from 1951 or ’52 and it should have roller pickups. 

 

Regarding the Baby Ruth box car, the 2026 was cataloged in a set with a white #6014 Baby Ruth fixed door box car in both 1951 and ’52.  Now during those two years the type of truck changed so the type of truck could determine the year exactly if that is the same box car you have and it came with the 2026 in a set.  They used “staple” end trucks on that car in 1951 and “bar” end in 1952.
