great offer, but Chicago is a bit of a drive for me from Ohio. Wish we were close, I'd already been there!

I would like to move these by next Thursday December 12, or else we move them to the recycling bin.

Mail them Media mail. I'm sure the person that want's them will pay the media mail rate.

That would not be a bad idea and I would consider that as well.

Seemingly no one is interested in these.

I will be more than happy to pay the postage. I will give them away at a Train Days event that is held in my local town to encourage kids to read (it is train themed and yes, I set up a layout).  

They can not be sent by media rate because they have advertising in them.  Arcane postal rules.  If it were a book, that is different.  Magazines, however, are classified differently.  I believe this to a be a rule Ben Franklin created.  And as we know, the USPS operates under rules that are 240 yrs old - like this one.

I acquired something similar from another forum member for the same purpose a few weeks ago.  That is how I know about the media mail rule.  We used the LARGE priority mail cardboard box.  You may need a few as you probably have 300 magazines?

Thanks, but there has to be a better answer.  You are right I probably have 300 magazines.  I live about 20 minutes north of Chicago.  I would have thought this would have been snapped up by now.

Is this an all or nothing offer? I don't want to pick and choose, but I would be interested in some of the earier OGRs.

The DuPage show is an hour from my house.  I go there but can't this coming weekend.

I think what I will end up doing if I don't get any more of a firm commitment is placing them out by my front door and see if anyone wants to sift through them.  so long as it doesn't rain that might be a solution before the recycling bin.

I had  over  40 years worth, or more, of MR, RMC, Trains, Audio and other Mags. They all went to the curb for recycling. I recall it all would have been a stack 29 feet tall. I still have CTT since #1, but I read recently about someone couldn't even give their's away. I hope some is able to benefit from your generous offer. I did keep the Railroad Magazine issues as the fiction stories in them would be fun to read again.
