@MELGAR, that back straight run coming out of the tunnel is a great setting for photos.

Here is the front end of an American Flyer (Chicago Flyer) "Champion" locomotive. This 2-4-0 was cataloged as the 612R (R meaning it had reverse) and appeared in 1934 and perhaps only that year. The heavy brass headlight ring is distinctive for this variant. In 1934 it was used in American Flyer set No 950-RT the "Champion Passenger Train". This locomotive shell was also used with several other Champion sets one of which was a freight set. Full Disclosure- The 518 and 519 passenger coach and club car shown with the locomotive in my picture officially date from 1932 and may or may not have come originally with this engine. Candidly we just don't know for sure since at this point in their production, Flyer was mixing up locomotives and cars to make sets. Remember, it was the depths of the Great Depression and they would put together whatever they thought they could sell and while it can't be confirmed as an original set, it is certainly feasible. The shown configuration in my picture is how the "set" came to me perhaps 5 years ago.
OBTW in case you can't read it, the lettering on this Type II tender says..."Champion". This tender came both with and without the sheet metal coal load and a dummy back up light and was lettered "Champion" or "American Flyer" or nothing at various times.
One more thing, which I believe is a testimony to the folks who designed and built these trains. This locomotive is over 90 years old and "YES" she can still power herself around my layout and pull her little consist.
Best wishes

Joe,
Thanks for noticing. The first scene I planned for my 10'-by-5' layout was to have the track/train exit from a tunnel onto an abutment and then onto a truss bridge crossing a river (really just a stream). Since the layout is so small, I wanted to create a dramatic scene in a small space . The rest of the layout was constructed around the terrain for this scene.

My front-end views for this Friday show Long Island Rail Road B-6 0-6-0 steam switcher #170 on my 10’-by-5’ layout. The engine is an MTH Railking Imperial model (30-1710-1) delivered in 2017 with PS3 at MSRP $449.95. It has a real coal load, legible builder’s plate, engineer and fireman figures, and tender truck safety chains.

@mike g. posted:For my FEF something from the old layout.
Mike, great job on the ballast...wish I had taken the time to add that extra touch to the layout...

Thanks Paul, that was the old layout, when I get the new one up and running I will have to do it all over again!

Nice looking 682 Mike been looking for one they have a high price tag. God Speed Mark
Well with all that diesel and steam, I guess I have to be the odd ball and post electric. This is the American Flyer 1211 Steeple Cab, an uncatalogued locomotive dating back to the 1920's . Now over 100 years old but she still runs (quite well actually) and pulls her consist around my (flat I admit) layout.
Best Wishes for a great weekend

@RSJB18, Bob, Wow, you have a beautiful LIRR A5, steamer, and its Legacy, and now, goe ahead a stretch your curves to 031 or 036 so you can run more Legacy locomotives on your beautiful layout. There’s so many pictures and videos on this great topic, so thanks to everyone who chimed in. Happy Railroading everyone.

Great shots Larry, you always have great engines to share!
@leapinlarry- Thanks Larry. As I mentioned to @mike g. on another thread- The CEO has not approved the land acquisition application as of yet. I'd love to be able to run the great Atlantic I bought from you next to this one.
One day......
