Hi all,

This is just a heads up for any of you out there with Android phone(s) and/or table(s).  Google released Android version 13 last week on 8/15/23.  The first hardware to ship with this new operating system is the Google Pixel 7.  Other new Android phones are still shipping with version 12.

Unfortunately, the current release of the DCS App (version 3.2.1) will not install on devices running Android 13.  On devices that are upgraded to Android 13 that already have the DCS App installed, the app will likely be disabled after the OS upgrade.

MTH has been planning an app update when the new WTIU ships, but that is still months away.  They have not been planning an update before then, but this OS change may require them to move up the app update.

So, what to do for now?  If you want to get a new phone and you want to install the DCS App, be sure your phone comes with Android 12 or earlier.  If you have an older phone running Android 12 or earlier, DO NOT allow the phone to update to Android version 13.

None of this applies to Apple devices running iOS.  The DCS App will still install on all new iOS devices currently for sale.

Hope this info helps!

Is the WTIU really months away?  I should start a pool on what we'll see first.  WTIU or the Base3, place your bets.

Atlas has updated their shop site to now allow you to order & pay for a WTIU. It's no longer just a "wish list" or Pro-Order item. However, the updated app isn't out so if you do receive one, I doubt you can use it yet.

The WIU is now available everywhere, Don't fall for the USED scalping price on eBay of $300+ when you can get them NEW at Trainworld for $169.
