Those pesky Drones...you see 'em everywhere anymore!

Saw them at my local hobby shop. Do you like it?
HEY ERIC,
No, it's a 4-rotor drone...they're now available as 6 and 8 rotor models.

HEY MOONMAN,
Yes, they're fun! So far I've only flown 'em in the house.
I have 2 of 'em. The larger one has an on-board video/still camera that can be controlled from the Transmitter.
HEY...I ALSO HAVE A TRAIN!
RipTrack
Erik, all I can say is:
It's crackers to slip a rozzer the dropsy in snide.
(If you're as hip as I hope you are, then you'll get this even without an Enigma Machine.)

Rip Track,
Ha, ha! I didn't expect the drone to be that small! I like those are better than the helicopters they have flying around the Monroeville, Pennsylvania Greenberg shows!!
And, oh yes, there is a train!!
I didn't like anything with rotors on top in 1968 (Uni of VietNam) and still cringe when I hear one.

HEY MARK,
RC Helicopters are now passe.
Here's an even smaller Quadcopter (drone), that is fully functional, with 4 independently-controlled rotors, a 3-axis Gyro Stabilizer, and low-battery warning blinkers visible during flight.
These are so small that their weights are stated in Grams, not ounces!

[Also shown is a BNSF freight ascending our Cajon Pass, on its way to points East with container cargo from the Port of Los Angeles.]

An O scale drone, That's cool
YO GILLY,
The train was stopped at the time.
Setting a Quad down gently is difficult because of the ground effects coming from the assymetrical prop wash. Two rotors are turning CW and the other 2 are turning CCW, causing complex ground currents. (This is no problem in flight, however.)

HEY SUZUKOVICH,
It's impossible to know what scale these birds are, because there are no prototypes to scale down from!
The Military has their drones, the Commercial users have theirs, and the Hobby world has theirs...they're all different sizes for carrying different payloads.

HEY MARK,
Gone at 59...man, that's too young! I'm almost 79 and I have many projects cooking!
The Drone would have indeed been a better critter to have fun with, mainly because of their 3-axis gyro stabilizers. Once you trim out the drift, they will hover in one spot until the battery runs down!
Cheers, RipTrack Hal
