GGD Hiawatha Skytop upgrades

Guys, I totally forgot to take pictures of the before of the Lounge obs area... but you should know that ALL the furniture came with the car, I just did some touch up work.... only Scott provides such amazing interiors!!!!!

 

 

 

 

 

Hand painted the rubber gaskets around the windows of the Skytop.... much better!!!

 

 

I like all the upgrades you did Santiago, but how the heck did you do the rubber gaskets on the windows? To me, that makes a huge difference in the "depth" of the car. I figured you would fix the tail bezel and you did with a fine job.

I agree - the black gaskets make it pop!  What a spectacular model!

Thanks, Charlie! I hand painted them with a 000 brush and acrylic paint. The trick is in having the right paint consistency, so that it’s not too runny or too thick to brush. Good music helps too!

Spectacular work.

Hand painted LOL, that would put me out of doing this change. I can mask, I can cut and I can spray, but I CAN NOT hand paint any longer, soldering is almost an issue now (arm tremors). In any case, that makes a big difference and you did a very fine job. Thanks for sharing!

Santiago'... that interior is absolutely breathtaking'... What a beautiful job you've done on that and the windows'.  The light looks very cool also'...Simply "OUTSTANDING".... 😁

I'm a passenger train fan and I dabble in detailing efforts myself, so I've been reading your posts and admiring in amazement the pictures of your various projects for several years now. In my not so humble opinion, your work is simply the best of the best.

So what '" touchups" did you do,? Was it the chrome chair ends? Adding ashtrays? Using contact paper as a "rug"?

You may be "lazy", but innovation has a few supporting roots in lazy too

adding steam lines...

I used the coupler bracket to hold the airlines and cut lever... Proto craft coupler, the car deserves nothing less

Painted the wheel faces black

the dedicated switch for the rear light... micro connectors for easy disassembly...

If you sneeze on contact paper, it "gets” the desired texture. It’s amazing.

The cars arrived today in fine shape even after undergoing a customs/security inspection based on this red sticker and DHL repacked tape:

BTW, I tried (using three different email programs) to let you know that they arrived but the emails all bounced back with the same error message so I am letting you know here.

Moderator(s): If this is not proper, I ask that it please be left up at least until Santiago acknowledges it. Right now this is my only way of personally letting him know; DHL tracking will only show delivery. Thank you.
