Looks like a Hollywood prop to me. I pressed pause and checked out the full-screen image. For starters, the wheels don't even look real...
Gee... I didn't know SP SD9 1518 at IRM was an "abandoned locomotive."
Or EJ&E 765 on display in a park...
Or the Big Boy at Steamtown...
Or scrap yards...
Or some of the others clearly on display...
I'll grant the ones half buried dirt are or being reclaimed by forest growth are abandoned, but I'd bet there are folks that have title to most of these.
As to that thing at 1min 48seconds... Whatever

That thing at 1:48 looks like something out of a movie, can't possibly be a real engine

It's a videogame thing. I have no idea which one, but you can look around the rest of the shot and tell it's all CGI, and not very well-done either, which to me points to a videogame image.
I haven't seen that in Fallout 4. Maybe from one of the other versions. Will have to check it out though.
So, in other words, the maker of the video really has no credibility so as far as content is concerned: Throw in a video game loco(?) and many others that are in museums or on display hardly rates as abandoned.
