I am still amazed and overwhelmed everytime I give trains away, how much more comes back to me.
I have perfect strangers come up to me at my board and give me stuff and say, "I know you will put this to good use".
Usually I "regift" it to some new young railroader that is just starting in the hobby. Pass it on, or as they say
"pay it forward"!!

That is a very good attitude to have. I have given away more trains than have been given to me, usually they went to kids.
This is so true.
A fellow forum member gave some items and I have since passed them on to several younger people who displayed a interest..
Hopefully this seed placed in their heads will grow as they get older, thus keeping our Hobby Alive.
Keeping alive the spirit of sharing and giving is the greatest gift.
I've heard it said that all we ever "take with us" is what we did for others.
