10 or 15 years ago I picked up a couple of glass encased circuit breakers with sb657 on them. Anybody got any idea on what their amp rating is or anything about them?
In looking at it, I'm guessing they're pretty low current. If I had such a device and wanted to find out the rating, I'd connect it to my bench supply and slowly ramp up the current until it tripped.
I found something similar on eBay, here's the description.
ESB701AJ1BK thermal breaker. The switch has two wire leads at bottom of switch. Current rating is 1A / 125vac. The switch is normally closed until the current exceeds 1 amp. then switch will open and will not reclose until the breaker cools. Body of switch measures 30mm x 7mm, not including the leads.
I saw that one but it is numbered differently. I hope these are 5 or 6 amp and will hook up an old omite ceramic 1 ohm resister to a transformer and crank it up . My clamp on ammeter should give me an accurate reading?i am pretty sure it is an old Sylvania but can find no reference.
